Plan the Ultimate Girl’s Getaway in Midland

Valentine’s Day is coming up, and there’s no better time to celebrate the ladies in your life with a Galentine’s Day celebration! It’s a time to spoil yourself and your friends with some self-care and fun. Love for our significant others and our gal pals is in the air. Treat yourself this Galentine’s Day with these dreamy, uniquely Midland activities.

1. Start at the Spa

Set the tone of the rest of your Galentine’s Day by starting at the spa. Woodhouse Day Spa has four Valentine’s Day packages to choose from, with options including signature facials, nourishing body wrap treatments, and 50 or 80-minute massages. Make sure you book ahead, as these tend to be popular. You’ll leave soothed and ready for more relaxation throughout the day.

2. Garden Brunch

All that relaxation can work up an appetite. Head over to Alldredge Gardens and take in the greenery while you make your way to Cafe at the Gardens for brunch. You and your girlfriends can enjoy a delicious brunch and feel like you’ve been transported to more tropical surroundings, even in the middle of February.

3. Uncork Your Creativity

Now that you have had some relaxation time and your bellies are full, let’s get creative. Head over to The Pottery and explore your creative side. Select from the many pre-made pottery creations and prepare to make it your own through paint. You can book a ‘Diva Night’ for a no-pressure instructional class. These events are BYOB, so bring a bottle of wine to enjoy while you paint. You’ll have a blast decorating your piece and can stop by after for your finished work of art that is uniquely yours. It’s a great way to remember your Galentine’s celebration!

4. See What’s on Display

Next, wash the paint off your hands and head over to the Museum of the Southwest galleries to see how the professionals do it. There are currently two rotating exhibits in the gallery. Check out Seymour Fogel: Synthesis and see his impact on the Texas Modernism movement. Then, stroll through Past Particles: Simon Waranch’s Life in Glass. He’s known for his Venetian technique, pattern work, and conceptual design of glass art.

5. Bubbly & Casablanca

After you and your girls have made your way through the art exhibits, stay on the Museum of the Southwest campus and mosey over to the Marian West and William Blanton Blakemore Planetarium for Valentine’s Day at the Planetarium. The event starts at 6:30pm with champagne and strawberries, followed by a screening of Casablanca in the Planetarium Dome Theater. Lay back and enjoy the film with your girlfriends and take in the lovely day you’ve had together.

These uniquely Midland Galentine’s activities are sure to be popular throughout February. Make your reservations to be sure you can fit it all into your day! Plan your Galentine’s today.
