A visit to the Petroleum Museum is an amazing journey through over 230 million years of history. Located in the heart of the Permian Basin, the Petroleum Museum offers interactive education and entertainment for adventurers of all ages. Walk through an ancient sea…visit a 1930’s Boomtown…experience the technology of the petroleum industry. Don’t miss the world’s largest collection of antique oil drilling equipment featured on the Museum’s grounds. Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Tom Lovell’s incredible paintings depicting the cultural history of the Permian Basin. The Museum’s Mineral Gallery features exquisite minerals from across the globe. Experience the engineering genius of Jim Hall’s Chaparral race cars located in the Museum’s Transportation Wing. From interactives to immersive environments to game-based learning experiences, the 15,000 square feet of exhibit space will be sure to entertain guests of all ages. When to Visit: Monday–Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; Sunday: 2 p.m.–5 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Easter Sunday.
