Get excited about science this summer at the Petroleum Museum through our cool summer programs.  Summer Science Classes are offered to children entering 2nd through 6th grade. The kids will engage in age‐appropriate experiments and creative activities focused around a scientific theme. Topics will include energy, insects, meteorology, oceanography and astronomy. These fun‐filled classes will be on Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. “Our Science Classes provide a refreshing, educational experience for kids in a fun learning environment.” said Mandi Thompson, Education and Marketing Director at the Petroleum Museum. “It is a great opportunity for children to learn through hands‐on discovery.”

The cost per student is only $20 for Petroleum Museum members or $25 for non‐members. Classes will fill up quickly, so ensure your child’s exciting summer of scientific fun and learning by calling to make your reservation! Pre‐registration is required. The Petroleum Museum extends a special thanks to our sponsor, Key Energy Services, for sponsoring the 2014 Summer Science Classes.

The Petroleum Museum’s Movie Camps are the perfect getaway this summer for children ages 5 and up! Children under 5 are welcome to join in on the fun, but parental supervision is required during the program.  Movie Camps will be held every Tuesday this summer, starting on June 3rd with 2 showings to choose from, 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 1:00‐3:30 p.m. Each camp will include a kid‐approved animated movie and a hands‐on activity, as well as popcorn and lemonade for only $5 per child. “Movie Camps are a great way to acclimate children into a Museum environment while having a great time with other kids in the community.” said Thompson.
