On September 11 through 14, 190 trustees who manage retirement and investment funds for firefighters across the state will converge in Midland for the Texas Local Firefighters’ Pension Association educational conference. The Midland Firemen’s Relief and Retirement Fund hosted this same conference 10 years ago when the 9/11 bombing tragedy occurred. This year’s event is a tribute to the 10‐ year anniversary.

“We chose to host this event in Midland to give firefighters in Texas a chance to ‘Feel the Energy’ of Midland, its businesses and citizens,” said Chairman Brian McGary. “It is an educational opportunity to give trustees of firefighter pension funds the tools they need to make wise investment decisions.”

While in Midland firefighters will enjoy a number of social events ranging from a golf tournament, sporting clays, a performance with Pete’s Dueling Pianos and a private Summer Mummers troupe.
