Midland, Texas —The Midland County Fair will take place at the Midland County Horseshoe, 2514 Arena Trail, Thursday, August 21 through Sunday, August 24. The fair will feature a mix of education, entertainment, excitement and family fun for people of all ages. Celebrating its fifth year, the fair will include: a carnival; bull riding; Cowboy Mounted Shooters; petting zoo; barrel racing; team roping event; tractor pull; creative art competitions; lamb and goat show; car show; Little Miss Midland County Fair Pageant; Karaoke; monster truck rides; Charreada Rodeo; shopping and food vendors; along with two stages of exciting local entertainers. This year a West Texas favorite duo, the Rankin Twins, will take center stage Saturday night.

“Celebrating the Fair’s fifth year, we are excited to continue to offer a $5 admittance ticket, which we consider to be the best ‘price‐value’ for traditional family fun and entertainment in the area,” said Tammy Dooley, Midland County Fair Board Member.  “We want there to be so much to do for the price of one ticket that fair‐goers are entertained at all levels. With a focus on traditional family fair fun, for a $5 ticket, you can experience it all.”

The growth of the fair has been exciting, with attendance in the first year of approximately 4,500 fair‐goers. These numbers have grown consecutively to almost 15,000 attendance fair‐goers last year, and Dooley said she anticipates even more growth at the 2014 fair.

“It is a great time of year to host the Midland County Fair, with the excitement of fall approaching, kids preparing to return  to school, it is a last ‘summer family‐fun thing to do’ together, right here in Midland,” said Dooley.

The fair will run from 5 to 11 p.m. on Thursday, 5 p.m. to midnight on Friday, 10 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Thursday night is “Back to School” and “Senior Citizens” night, with family carnival discounts and free admission for fairgoers age 60 and over.  For more information and a full schedule of events for the fair, visit
