The Midland Convention & Visitors Bureau (MCVB) proudly announces the launch of a new, improved website: www.VisitMidlandTexas.com. The new site is designed to encourage economic growth by developing, promoting, enhancing and supporting Midland as a vibrant visitor destination. On the website, visitors can book a hotel room, request a visitor guide and map, view upcoming events, browse facilities available to rent, submit a request for proposal, and much more.
Gaylia Olivas is the vice president of the Midland Convention Visitors Bureau and says the website is designed to promote Midland as a destination and enhance a visitor’s experience. It targets several visitor markets including associations, governments, S.M.E.R.F. (social, military, educational, religious, and fraternal) groups, sports and entertainment planners, tour operators, and leisure visitors.
“Travel is a major contributor to the economy in Midland,” said Olivas. “According to the Office of the Governor, Economic Development and Tourism Department, travel creates more than $551 million in total direct spending right here in Midland. A vibrant, optimized website is important for our community to reach travelers and increase visitor spending in our city.”
The MCVB encourages local partners to post public events on their online calendar to help promote these to visitors. It is free to post through a simple online form on the website. They are always updating their list of venues and ask people to submit information on any facilities or attractions not currently listed.
