Midland, Texas — On Thursday, May 13 the Midland Convention & Visitors Bureau will host a Travel & Tourism Meeting celebrating National Tourism Week at Blakemore Planetarium in Midland, at 1705 West Missouri Ave. The meeting will run from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. Mayor Wes Perry will kick off the meeting with a proclamation declaring tourism week in Midland.

“Travel and tourism is a vital part of our community’s economic stability and growth,” said Gaylia Olivas, director of the CVB. “By bringing together all components of Midland’s hospitality industry, we are able to provide education and partnership opportunities now and in the future.”

There will also be a panel discussion by representatives of various sectors of the Midland tourism industry on “How Tourism Dollars Impact Midland”.

Travel & Tourism meetings are held quarterly. The Travel & Tourism meetings are resourceful for those involved or interested in the travel and tourism industry. They also provide networking opportunities.
