THIRD THURSDAY READING PROGRAM

Midland, Texas — On Thursday, Nov. 20, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., the George W. Bush Childhood Home will host a free reading event for children of all ages in the Bush Childhood Home Visitor Center at 1412 W. Ohio Ave. Children will read books including “Thank You, Sarah: The Woman Who Saved Thanksgiving,” and each child will receive a copy of the book to call their own. Refreshments will also be served.  

Space is limited, so please call 432‐685‐1112 to reserve a space for your child.  

The goal of the Laura Bush Literacy Program is to foster a love for reading in children.   Reading events are scheduled the third Thursday of each month for children of all ages.

In addition to reading events, the George W. Bush Childhood Home has set up the Laura Bush Bookshelves, which are also fully stocked and ready for children of all ages to receive a free book to call their own. Visit during normal business hours and pick out a free book (limit one book per child per day). Children can also exchange old books for new ones. New or gently used book donations are always welcomed and can be dropped off in the Bush Childhood Home Gift Shop during normal business hours.

Reading events are sponsored by RBC Foundation, Laredo Petroleum, Landover Corporation, Oxy USA, Inc. & the Texas Pecos Trail Region.
